BICHON HEAVEN IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

In 1994 our first little bichon frise puppy, Tovah, joined our household. Tovah was strictly a "pet" and although she did meet the Breed Standard requirements she did not possess the qualities necessary to compete in the Conformation Show Ring. She had the most wonderful temperament and was the sweetest little dog in the world - and the beginning of my ongoing obsession with this charming breed.

Since that time we have acquired excellent representatives of the breed, and have gone on to breed and exhibit top quality bichons of our own, with many achieving their Championship Titles.

As members of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Bichon Frise Club of Canada we adhere to a strict Code of Ethics and we take pride in our dogs' accomplishments, both in the show ring and in the whelping box.

Occasionally we have puppies that are available to approved pet or show homes, and we do our best to ensure that these homes are prepared for and knowledgeable about Bichons' habits and needs. An adopting family must be committed to providing a safe and happy environment where their pup will be able to blossom into the kind of family companion that they will enjoy and can be proud of.

Much of the socialization that is so essential to the normal, healthy development of a well-adjusted pet will be done through the time spent as a young puppy in our home. Our grandchildren happily assist us in this and it is a mutually beneficial labor of love for both the children and the pups. The puppies stay with us until approximately 10 weeks of age so that they get plenty of time to interact and learn proper doggy behavior from their mom and the other canines that live here. Further time spent in training and socialization will be the responsibility of the puppy's new family.

Occasionally an adult becomes available - sometimes a retired show dog, sometimes a bichon pet that has been relinquished by its former owner - and it often makes a wonderful family pet.
